JacShirt I + Heavy Tweed
The Form is our original JacShirt, slightly fitted at the waist, with a classic collar and hand-carved horn buttons.
The Fiber is our Heavy Tweed, a Heritage Wool. Like all of the fabrics in our Heritage Collection, the cloth used to make this garment is made entirely by hand on a traditional wooden loom. After weaving, our Heavy Tweed is hand-felted to bind the yarns, producing a fabric that is sturdy enough for cold temperatures.
Heavy Tweed is woven with a yarn that is finer than the yarn used in Light Tweed. It is also felted for a longer period of time, producing a denser fabric.
The end result is stitched together by artisan tailors employed in an ethically run, small family business in the Kathmandu Valley with whom we have been working for years.
JacShirt I is available in all of our Heritage Wools: Light Tweed, Handwoven Herringbone, Heavy Tweed, Himalayan Tweed, Karnali Natural Tweed and Mugu Merino.
JacShirt I + Heavy Tweed is also available Made to Measure.
Handmade in Nepal.
