JacShirt II + Karnali Natural Tweed
The Form is a restyling of our original JacShirt featuring bigger and broader shoulders, a wider chest and a band collar for a more relaxed fit… still with hand-carved horn buttons.
The Fiber is our Karnali Natural Tweed, a Heritage Wool. Like all of the fabrics in our Heritage Collection, the cloth used to make this garment is made entirely by hand on a traditional wooden loom. Our Karnali Natural Tweed is created by carefully arranging each individual yarn over the course of days so that when the weaver starts her work, they come together to achieve this beautiful patterning. The fabric is then hand-felted to bind the yarns.
Karnali Natural Tweed is made without the use of dyes. The shading and patterns in the fabric are the result of weaving with the natural color variations in the wool. Otherwise Karnali Natural Tweed is similar to Himalayan Tweed.
The end result is stitched together by artisan tailors employed in an ethically run, small family business in the Kathmandu Valley with whom we have been working for years.
JacShirt II is available in all of our Heritage Wools: Light Tweed, Handwoven Herringbone, Heavy Tweed, Himalayan Tweed, Karnali Natural Tweed and Mugu Merino.
Handmade in Nepal.
